Innovation Award at Level UY
Level UY is Uruguay’s most important video game developer conference which took place on October 26-27. The event promotes the local video game development community and is led by studios like Ironhide, creators of the Kingdom Rush franchise.
Treeview presented a vertical slice of Newton’s Room, a first-of-its-kind mixed reality educational app where users apply Newton’s laws of physics to solve challenging puzzles that adapt to their physical environment.
Treeview was nominated for the innovation award and got the chance to present the mixed reality app on Meta Quest 3 at the conference to gather user feedback. The event allowed the team to test out the vertical slice of the project with first-time spatial computing users to run thorough user testing to understand shortcomings in user experience and friction points with this new medium.
Level UY presented the winners of the Uruguay’s video game contest, which were:
- 🧪 Innovation award: Newton's Room de Treeview Studio
- 🎨 Best art award: Auto Necroches de Guillermo Barrios
- 🔸 Indie promise award: Heat Division by pi0h1
- 🔹 Best indie award: Airborne Arena and Cleanup Crew.
