Telly Awards interviews Treeview on mixed reality
The Telly Awards featured Treeview in an interview about designing mixed reality experiences for first-time users. The profile explores the studio's award-winning digital twin for Microsoft and Teyma.
The winner profile feature examines how Treeview makes complex energy data accessible to different audiences. Treeview founder and CEO Horacio Torrendell discusses the interface, the collaboration with Microsoft and how Teyma uses the experience.

Starting with the site
The digital twin opens on a recognizable model of the energy site. Wind, solar, production and forecast data appear as layers. Selecting equipment reveals more detailed technical information.
In the Winner Profile, Torrendell describes the difficulty of designing for people who have never used mixed reality. Mobile apps have familiar interaction patterns. Headset experiences still require teams to establish how users explore, select and understand what they see.
The site gives users a shared starting point.
That structure lets investors, government officials and landowners explore the same project at different depths. Someone reviewing the overall plan can stay with the site view. A viewer with a technical question can inspect individual equipment.

The work behind the feature
Microsoft's Co-Innovation Labs brought Treeview into the green hydrogen project for Teyma. The digital twin runs on Microsoft HoloLens 2, mobile and WebGL, a technology for displaying interactive 3D graphics in a browser.
Treeview and Microsoft's Co-Innovation Labs explored tools and interaction approaches together, shaping how people could navigate the data and understand the project.
Torrendell explains that Teyma uses the experience during feasibility work and fundraising. It brings site data and forecasts into conversations about the project, where each audience needs a different level of detail.
The digital twin was also presented at Microsoft's Co-Innovation Lab anniversary event, attended by senior Microsoft executives and Uruguayan government representatives.

The project, Mixed Reality Digital Twin Data Visualization, won two Silver Telly Awards at the 47th Annual Telly Awards for Craft: Use of AR and Craft: Digital Environments.
For Torrendell, the recognition also brings visibility to the people behind client-owned work, giving the team a chance to be recognized alongside the organizations it builds for.
